The Festival of New Spring - closed, results!

Now that it's getting warmer out, it's a good time to go outdoors and enjoy the weather! While you're out there, why not take your camera with you and participate in the hunt? And if you're in the southern hemisphere or in an area that doesn't really get spring, this hunt is still for you!

All you need to do is take a photo of each object on the hunt list, and then post them! Everyone who posts a photo of each object will be entered in a draw to win one of these adorable little Song of the Rainbow Hotsprings foals:
Image Image
Once they're grown up, the owners will also get to name them (if you want to)!

There are also two additional prizes that will go to two more randomly-selected entrants :D
Image Image
Here's the list of things that you need to get a photo of:

- An odd tree
- Something that's sky-blue
- A flower in bloom
- A teeny tiny bird

And here's the rules!

- There is a limit of one entry per person.
- You need to take all of your photos yourself! I'm not asking you to include a piece of paper with your username on it this time, but I am trusting everyone to take their own photos and not just grab something from Google Images. Using someone else's photos will result in disqualification from this event.
- Please make sure your images aren't too huge, since they'll need to be posted to the thread! You're welcome to post smaller images that link to larger images, or just links rather than photos.
- The photos don't necessarily need to be real versions of the object in question (eg you could take a photo of an odd fake tree that you happen to have hanging around).

To enter the photo hunt, just reply to this thread with the following filled out:

Are you enjoying the weather?

This will be open from now until April 26, 3pm PDT - good luck!

*headtilt* Harroway, were those pics that you took yourself? I just wonder because of the different URL sources and the lack of background on the pony. *giggle*

Odd Tree: This was a tree in a very small city in Hungary. A classmate is standing next to it.

Sky Blue: My house! And my aunt. Hehehe.

Flower in Bloom: A photo of blooming flowers and tropical birds. This fabric will be shipped to its new home soon.

Teeny Bird: They were ittle penguins on a piece of fabric! I'd taken the pic to show someone interested in buying the fabric.

Are you enjoying the weather? It's so gorgeous, how can I not? Though I'm sad there will be rain for my birthday party tomorrow. Eh. At least it'll tamp down the pollen for Dad!

Teeny Bird: I painted this family of teeny birdies for a friend as a commission! The blue one is him, the red one is his wife, and the little bitty one is purple and represents their son. :)

Are you enjoying the weather? Again, no. It's too hot and we're helping people move so it's even more hot. :(

Odd Tree

Well...in the game they refer to Sudowoodo as an odd tree right up until you water it...so here's my odd tree getting started on a walk with me!

Sky Blue
Image
My camera is sky blue! And hiding my face.

Teeny Tiny Bird
Image
Can't really see the tiny birds in the google logo, but that's why the paper crane and the wooden bird are there! The feather is just to show that while wooden bird may not be so tiny...it is when compared to a real parrot. Even if the wooden bird is more of a macaw and the feather's from an African Grey... It's a wing feather.

Flowers in Bloom
Image
Lilacs in a vase with a bush full of them visible through the window! Ignore the dirty dishes please...

Are you enjoying the weather?
Haven't been out in it enough to enjoy... But the rain hasn't shown up yet, so that's a plus.

My camera isn't working right now, so I went through the photos I took last summer and found some that matched the criteria. I hope that's ok.

An odd tree: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h307/ ... ylight.png
The first thing I found odd about this tree was how old and twisted it was...and then I walked around and saw that it had nailed-in steps leading to the point where all the thick trunks split off and left a flat platform-ish area, and I knew I had my odd tree. ^^ Sadly, I couldn't seem to take a decent picture of it, but there it is.

Something that's sky-blue: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h307/ ... binegg.png
*does not want to admit how long she walked around looking specifically for a robin egg shell on the ground somewhere...* XP

A flower in bloom: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h307/ ... violet.png
I was originally going to choose one of the wind pollinated flowers, just because I don't think people stop to admire them as often as they should...but this wood violet picture made me so ridiculously happy I just couldn't resist. ^_^

A teeny tiny bird: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h307/ ... rdpose.png
Hehe, I love male gold finches when they're still stuck between their winter and summer plumage. *grins* Another case where I was going to try and post a different species...but the yellow-headed blackbirds weren't cooperating in the least. They'd certainly count as 'teeny tiny' in regard to how much of the picture they took up though, even with binoculars... *crooked smile*

Are you enjoying the weather? I don't know if you could really say you enjoy having it be 70ºF one day, and then having four inches of snow three days later...but it's amusing enough, I suppose. ^^

My Entries...

Photos:
The dawn redwood in my front yard back at home, surely an odd tree, both cone bearing and deciduous. And my wall of inspiration, more sky blue in person...

I was hoping for my African violet to bloom but it's not quite there yet so here's a flower from my spider plant. And my little toy budgie (a reminder of my budgie back at home) facing off against the cat.

Are you enjoying the weather? Well, it rained yesterday but was gorgeous and sunny today with hopefully more warm weather to follow. So yes, I am enjoying the weather.
