[Hide-and-seek] Belated Pet Giveaway!

Post by CosmicDragon »

Due to a whole host of unpleasant things happening to me in the last few weeks, this event was considerably delayed. XD But I finally have the time (and all-important internet) to be able to run it, so;

Come one, come all! Rumours have cropped up of sightings of an escaped mage construct in this corner of the woods, a tiny jackalope-type critter who likes nothing more that playing hide-and-seek among the roots. She doesn't think there's anyone out there smart enough, or fast enough, to catch her! But I've set this up to prove her wrong, and to hopefully send one of you away with the little garden-muncher.
Image

All you need to do is try and work out what part of the forest she's in! I've even provided a handy-dandy map, sectioning off the different parts. But you'll have to search thoroughly, so make sure you spend at least 10 minutes in each section before choosing a new one!
Image

The search starts now, so grab your nets, do some stretches, and head on out!

J7 is quiet, not even a rustle amongst the underbrush to hint that she could be hiding there.
:D Yay, my first 'hunter'!

There are a few birds twittering higher up in F2, but the floor of the forest here is very bare, with nowhere for the critter to hide.
C3 is very dense, but after thoroughly scouring the nooks and crannies you can affirm that it isn't there!

:D Ah, it feels good to finally be running this...

Hehe, birdsong is an excellent thing to find too, though maybe not quite what I was hoping for...how about B9?

Could the little critter perhaps be hiding in J1?

C4 and B9 are both equally quiet, no suspicious rustling or telltale noises, and J1 seems to be inhabited by only one thing... SPIDERS! D: Big ones too. Ack!

A1 is, oh dear... Better watch out, this area seems to be a thin strip of sheer cliffs! You search but she isn't in any of the nooks here.

Oh dear, I'd better get away from the spiders as quickly as possible! After a "hairy" situation, I decide to trek over to D6 to explore instead.

D6 looks promising, but after close examination you find nothing more than some ripe blueberries. Yum!
H9 is open, a grassy clearing with barely a shadow to hide in. Ah well, you look anyway before moving on.

Hehe, coming up with little blurbs is fun!

Thorny brambles tangle the between the trees in E4, making your (unsuccessful) search incredibly prickly!
E6 is full of rustles that get your hopes up, but it turns out it's merely an undersize samanayr who looks at you with wide eyes as it chews on some tasty-looking leaves.
G5 is deathly quiet... It's almost unnatural. Which usually means there's a predator nearby! No way the little critter would be foolish enough to hide here!
D7's a pretty spot, with a burbling brook, but even though you double check every hiding place the little thing isn't hiding here either!
I6 is dark and shadow-y, but the ground is bereft of cover and your search is short.

F8 is full of movement, and at first you think it must be a trick of the light, but when you look closer you realise the bark of every tree is covered in insects! You hurry your search, finding nothing, but walking away with several insects on your clothes!
I9 is a difficult place to search, the ground is covered with a thick leaf layer that crackles and clings to your clothes, but you eventually confirm that she isn't hiding there.

I do seem to like all the extremes of open places... *grins* Maybe D10 will be more promising?
