River Run

This race takes place in a raging river. They may be any manner of water hazard present so this race is not for the faint of heart, although don't worry, there will be healers around in the event of any injuries. As this is an aquatic race, your Samanayr should be able to swim. Aquatic Samanayrs are not mandatory; however, not aquatic Samanayrs may have severe disadvantages, especially with the obstacles.

There are 10 team spots open for this race.

The apply for a race spot, send a PM to my account, silvermoondragon, either on the forum or PI(pm’s sent to Sushidragon may get missed or you miss getting the spot you want), with the subject as River Run and the following form filled out:

Would Shifters get a bonus or a disadvantage with the race?

Would anyone have a water sam that they would be willing to lend to a fairly new person?

@ LvSoulFriend - that's a tricky one I'd have to think about, If they're able to shift into aquatic creatures(which I believe yours is able to) I don't see them getting much of a disadvantage if any. As for bonuses I'm not really sure yet, it would depend on the obstacles and what they would be able to shift into to get past the obstacle.

@hardwired - you're welcome to use any of my Samanayrs if you'd like, Wave or Vapor would probably be the most suitable though:

Both of my water elementals are in use, but if anyone needs a swimmer to borrow both Lagoon and Feather are available. <3

Hey guys, the race may be a little late, I still have to walk the dog, and I'm not quite sure I'll be back by 8, so I'll change the starting time to 8:30. Sorry for any inconveniences.

The racers tread water in the river, waiting in eager anticipation for the race to start.

And they're off!

Woohoo, we're off to a good start.

In this round, some of our racers get caught in first obstacle, a section of rapids, others pausing just before, ready to tackle them in the next round.

Just around the corner, our second obstacle comes into view, a stepped waterfall. Racers will have to leap up the river, just like spawning salmon to make their way passed this one!

Go Haze go! You can do it.

The river hazards seem to be proving quite the challenge for some of our racers.

Our last racers, in a feat of strength, manage to break through the rapids just as our first racer comes across the final obstacle, a strong back current rolling in behind a rather large boulder.

Oooooooooooooooh, tricky race. Good recovery, Haze. Keep going!

Our racers just keep on swimming, but we have a winner just around the corner.

It's a nail-biter. Could someone come from behind to steal the win from Fathom? Hehehe.

And Orasteele's Fathom crosses the finish line claiming first prize. Who'll be next?
